Welcome to the Port Wentworth Elementary school counselor website! I'm so glad you're here and taking the time to look around. There is a lot of information for you to learn about the role of a school counselor and what I do during the day! I am here to help you and your child have a wonderful and successful school year. If you're in the building, please stop by with any questions you may have. You can even stop by just to say "Hi"! My office is located across from the media center. In the mornings, I am outside greeting kids, so you can find me out front. You can also call the school at (912) 395-6742 to reach me as well. Let's have a great year!

I have been a school counselor since graduating with my Master's degree in June 2000. I have worked at all levels: elementary, middle, and high school. I have worked with rural kids, suburban kids, and urban kids.
I am originally from Alabama (ROLL TIDE!). I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Alabama and my Master's of Education in School Counseling from Auburn University. Yes, you read that correctly. I graduated from both of these intense rival schools! I can get along with anyone! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my job! I give lots of hugs and high fives throughout the day. I celebrate the joys with your child and I am there to wipe away tears and lend a listening ear when they are sad. I will always treat your child as if he or she was one of my own. My "babies" are always my babies. Even my school kiddos who are now out of college, married, and have children of their own are still considered "my babies". |
